Ryotsu tries to get her fired by staging traffic violations, but she is actually his childhood crush from elementary school who only became a cop to find him.
Nakagawa (the rich, naive officer) inherits an old, supposedly haunted hospital on the outskirts of Katsushika. As a prank, Ryotsu and the gang volunteer to guard it overnight. This is the episode where Kochikame shows its dramatic chops. Unlike the usual ending where Ryotsu wins, here Ryotsu is the side character. The race ends in a rain-soaked tie, with Honda admitting he loves her from afar. Reiko gives him her helmet as a souvenir.
This episode introduced the running gag that Ryotsu cannot ride a bicycle legally. It is not available on most streaming volumes due to music licensing issues with the 1998 backing track.
